The role of the teacher is to facilitate, extend, and deepen children’s learning informed by critical observation of children. Critical observation includes studying and making visible representations of children’s learning. Children’s and teachers’ systematic study and use of classroom records guides and informs teachers’ decisions to facilitate, extend and deepen children’s learning.
