Using Drawing-Tools in Flash MX 2004 to Enhance Computer Based Design
launch moduleAi-Lun Wu
Graduate Student, Instructional Technology and Educational Studies, UT KnoxvilleThis online learning module will help students and faculty members explore the drawing tools which are available in the Flash toolbox, in particular with the Wacom pen and tablet. The advantages of using the Wacom pen and tablet are that users have a greater control of the Drawing tools than they do with a mouse, and they can use the Wacom pen to create a variety of pictures in virtual space. The Wacom pen and tablet works well with both PCs and Mac computers. Flash MX is the leading vector technology for designing high-impact, low-bandwidth graphic files that provide a richer, more compelling Web experience. Vector-based graphics are mathematically described and therefore appear smoother at any size or resolution.
This module will provide demonstrations and step-by-step instructions on how to use the Wacom pen and tablet and mouse to help users become more creative and effective when working with Flash MX. This module will share knowledge that I have generated from being a Drawing Instructor in the School of Art and a graduate student in Instructional Technology. The electronic pencil, the brush, and the pen are available in either Flash MX or other software, such as Adobe-Photoshop, Illustrator, or Macromedia-Freehand.
