3.4 Choosing a Template

First, a word or two about the Blogger template. The template is a dynamic HTML document that determines the look of every webpage in your blog. It determines the type, size, and color of your various fonts. It determines where blog content is displayed on the page. It determines how the date and time will be posted, how your blogroll will be organized, and where comments will appear.

In order to help out HTML novices, Blogger commissioned several web designers to create standard templates. Presently, there are 33 to choose from. Note, though, that the Blogger template is fully customizable. Each of the thousands of pages in my personal website is built, so to speak, by a single template, which means that if I decide to, say, add a new link to my blogroll, I only have to change it once. Blogger will republish the entire site, saving me many hours of boring work.
