3.3 Naming Your Blog
The next step is naming your blog.
Fill out the "Name Your Blog" form.
Click the "Continue" arrow.
A few things to know about the "Name Your Blog" form:
The Blog Title is the name that you came up with during the lesson 2 activity. This title will appear at the top of every blog page and is, therefore, a key part of your blog's identity. You will be able to change the blog title later if you choose to do so.
Note: For the sake of this lesson, I am naming my new blog, "My Experiment with Blogger."
What you enter in the Blog Address box will determine your blog's URL. Because no two sites can exist at the same URL, this must be a unique name.
Note: I entered "my experiment" as my blog address. Because several other Blogger clients have also used "my experiment," Blogger automatically generated the unique URL http://myexperiment831.blogspot.com/, adding "831" to distinguish my site from the others.
Blogspot is Blogger's free hosting service. If you have a webspace of your own (a space on the university UNIX server, for example), you can setup Blogger to FTP your blog to that space. This is done through Advanced Setup. Doing so is outside of the scope of this module, but Blogger's step-by-step instructions are impressive and easy to follow.
