Assistant Professor, Department of PeriodontologyImaging data, both clinical and radiographic, is rapidly evolving to digital formats. The objective of this module is to develop a case-centered learning module based on digitally obtained clinical photographs and radiographs. Using a dental case as an exemplar, the module will demonstrate the techniques and provide a format for both faculty and students to develop their own case presentations for teaching purposes and for communication with colleagues. In addition, the module will offer guidelines for developing digital case archives that will benefit other clinical disciplines (such as medicine, nursing, social work, psychology) and other disciplines that use case-centered teaching/learning that are also image-intensive (such as the arts). These archives will facilitate undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate teaching/learning, as well as the development of training materials for virtual continuing education programs and preparation for certifying board examinations.
