Paragraph Setup

The setup of a paragraph format for the document allows you to establish some important characteristics for the body of text. Spacing between lines and between paragraphs is determined easily. It is important to apply this feature consistently throughout the document.

The subject of paragraph formatting brings us back to the topic of white space. Within the rectangular block known as "live matter," (See Page Setup section.)  

is a great deal of additional white space—between lines, between characters, and within characters (counters). How that white space is treated can help establish the tone of the document.
