Headers and Footers

Most formal documents require that information be included in a header and/or a footer. It is important both to include this information and to include it in a way that is simple to apply, and change if necessary.

Open a Microsoft Word document, select View from the Main Menu bar and choose the Header and Footer option.

This is the Header/Footer view. In this view of the page, the main body of the text on the page is grayed out and not editable while the information in the header and footer boxes are editable. To return to the normal view, simply double-click on the main section of the page.
