At an academic medical center, we are constantly challenged to incorporate information technology into teaching and clinical practice.

 

Medical imaging technology has rapidly progressed to the point almost all imaging data is stored digitally on easily accessible intranet systems and workstations.

 

However patient confidentiality issues and HIPPA guidelines guide their appropriate use and dissemination

 

This instructional module is designed to encourage, enable and equip you to develop multimedia presentations of clinical cases by  integrating clinical information, laboratory data, Invasive procedural images (e.g. video endoscopy),  data from imaging modalities (including  X rays, CT, MRI, PET, Nuclear scans and Ultrasound) and histopathologic/ microscopic imaging for presentation and  discussion at conferences, classrooms and multidisciplinary clinics. .

 

We outline simple and practical steps to save, retrieve, transfer and edit imaging data from several different sources and develop multimedia content from the same using existing equipment and technology with a minimum investment of time, labor and additional resources.
