The ETC functions as a professional development resource and host for collaborative activities. Advisory Board membership includes faculty members from each of the UT system campuses.
Led by instructional resource professionals, the ETC supports curricular innovation by leveraging existing instructional technology expertise across all UT campuses.

eTeaching Certificate Program

Project SET
Implemented in 2002, Project SET (Sharing Educational Technology) was the first initiative of the ETC. Project SET awarded small grants to faculty, graduate students, and instructional resource professionals to develop web-based instructional modules on topics to assist faculty to integrate technology into their teaching practice. Project RITE
The ETC provides opportunities for faculty to receive grants that will promote academic developments and collateral activities to advance the assessment of technology-mediated student learning outcomes.

History
The ETC was established in 2001 to benefit faculty by permitting them to learn new processes and practices with the convenience of online learning's anytime, anyplace access. Energized by the University's charge to increase and advance the use of technology for teaching and learning, faculty are increasingly interested in receiving guidance for transitioning their instructional materials to online environments. In the 2001 UT statewide Faculty Instructional Technology Survey, over 90% of UT system faculty respondents indicated that they are interested in integrating technology into their teaching practice. This overwhelming interest by faculty has motivated UT campuses to look for new ways to provide faculty with the requisite resources, services, and support essential to developing quality technology-enhanced instruction. The ETC provides this support by sponsoring several innovative initiatives.
